PMX 2004/2008 SFP
The PMX-Series panel multiplexers are used to remote
up to four (PMX-2008: eight) intercom panels from
Riedel Artist or Performer 32 matrix systems via a
fibre link. Depending on the SFP modul (SM/MM) the
system allows operation of a group of intercom panels
over a distance of up to 500 m (1,600 ft) or 2 km (1.2
miles) in a cost-effective way while reducing setup
time to a minimum.
The PMX-2004 provides four BNCs to connect to matrix
ports or panels plus a duplex LC fibre connector.
The PMX-2008 holds two of such modules thus 8
intercom panels can be remoted from the matrix via two
fibre links.
The PMX can be used at the matrix end or the panel
end of the fibre link by setting a switch at the rear of the
unit to the appropriate position. Status information is
provided by four LEDs on the front panel.
Since the PMX provides a bidirectional transmission for
four (PMX-2008: eight) AES3/EBU signals its not only
allowing for panel distribution but also for the transport
of audio signals. For maximum flexibility a combined
setup of panel and digital audio can be used with the
PMX fibre link.
Flexible fibre option
The flexible fibre option with exchangeable SFP
modules on LC connectors allows for easy adjustment
of the PMX to distance needs and the existing fibre
infrastructure. The SFP modules are available for single-
mode and multi-mode fibre.
