Troubleshooting
Sound okay, picture poor
•
The dipole antenna may not be getting a good signal. Try adjusting its rods. Make sure all of the cables are
firmly connected to the jacks.
•
Try adjusting sharpness function to improve weak signals. Go to page 32 for instructions.
Can’t select certain channel
•
Channel may be blocked or not approved in the Parental Controls menu.
•
If using the VCR, make sure the TV/VCR is in the correct mode (press the TV button).
Clock is wrong
•
Power interruption. Need to reset the clock. Go to page 33 for more informtion.
•
Clock was not set accurately (check AM/PM and date). Go to page 33 for more information.
Auto channel search not searching properly
•

firmly connected to the jacks.

Signal type may not be set properly. If you have cable, make sure the cable type is choosen. Go to page 11
for instructions.
Black box appears on the screen
•
Closed-captioning might be on. Check the Closed-Caption Display control panel in the Screen menu. Go to
pages 32-33 for more instructions.
Closed captions not appearing on screen
•
Closed caption might not be set to on. Go to pages 32-33 for more information.
•
Station might not be broadcasting closed caption.
VCR Playback Problems
Tape plays continuously
•
Auto repeat might be turned on. Go to page 34 for instructions.
Tape plays automatically
•
Auto play might be turned on. Go to page 34 for instructions.
Tape won’t insert or eject
•
Make sure you insert the cassette with the window facing up and safety tab facing out.
•
When removing a tape, make sure the TV/VCR is connected to a working outlet.
•
Turn off the TV/VCR, then on before trying to insert or remove tape.
