2. Set up your device
■ The antenna
Your device has a fixed antenna
located towards the top of the phone
with the fold closed. Hold the phone
with the antenna area pointed up and
over your shoulder.
As with any other radio transmitting
device, do not touch the antenna
unnecessarily when the device is
switched on. Contact with the antenna
affects call quality and may cause the
phone to operate at a higher power
level than otherwise needed.
Avoiding contact with the antenna
area when operating the phone
optimises antenna performance and
battery life.
■ Insert the UIM (SIM)
card and battery
Before installing the UIM (SIM) card,
always make sure that the phone is
switched off and the cover removed.
Keep all UIM cards out of the reach of
small children. For availability and
information on using UIM card
services, contact your UIM card
vendor. This may be the service
provider, network operator, or other
vendor.
Insert the UIM card
1. Open the UIM holder: press the
release button (1), and lift the
holder up (2).
