Job aid: XFP models
XFPs are hot-swappable input/output enhancement components designed
for use with Nortel products to allow 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports to link with
other 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
All Nortel XFPs use Lucent connectors (LC) to provide precision keying
and low interface losses.
The following table lists and describes the Nortel XFP models. For
specifications for these XFPs, see
“XFP specifications” (page 47)
. Not all
products support all XFPs.

Installing an XFP
Install an XFP to provide a 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface between the
switch and other network devices.
Installing an XFP takes about three minutes.
