Powering the Camera
Install the battery provided with the camera.

Open the battery/card cover.
Slide the battery/card cover in the direction . The cover will automatically
open in the direction when you release your fingers from the cover.

Insert the battery with the

symbol facing toward the
display while using the side of the battery to press the
battery lock lever in the direction indicated by the arrow.

Close the battery/card cover.

Open the battery/card cover.

Release the battery by using your finger to press the
battery lock lever in the same direction as when you
inserted the battery.
The battery will be ejected. Pull the battery out of the camera.

• Insert the battery correctly. If the battery is incorrectly oriented, it
may cause a malfunction.
• Do not remove the battery when the camera is turned on.
• If you do not intend to use the camera for a long time, remove the battery.
• If the camera is left without the battery for a long time, the date and
time settings may be reset.
• Be careful when using the camera continuously for a long period of time
because the battery becomes very hot.
