Working with accessory devices

Your remote control is set to work your TV and many infrared remote (IR) control
VCRs, Cable TV Converter Boxes, DVD players, Satellite Receivers, etc.

Press the

VCR

or

ACC

button according to the accessory device you want to

operate with this remote control.
If the function buttons on the remote control also work the selected
accessory device, then the remote is ready and no further steps are needed.

If the functions buttons do not work the selected accessory device

According to the device(s) you own, you may make your remote control ready
for them by a direct entry code. Proceed as following.

Look up a three-digit remote control number for your brand of devices.
See pages 26-27.

If more than one number is listed, you may have to try more than one code in
order to locate your device’s remote code.

Press and hold the proper device button

VCR

or

ACC

and press

simultaneously the

MENU/SELECT

button, then release.

Enter, within 30 seconds, the three-digit remote code number for your desired
device.The remote is now ready to send commands to the unit.
Note: If no code or an incomplete code is entered within 30 seconds, the backlight

and selected mode button will turn off and give a long blink before returning to
the previous programmed code.

Point the remote at the device.
Press the

POWER

button on the remote to turn the unit on.

Remember: If this doesn’t work the first time, repeat the steps using the same

remote code number. After second try and the remote does not operate your
device, see if there is another four-digit code number listed for your device.
Repeat the steps above using the new number.
If, after repeated attempts, the remote does not work your device, try the Auto
Search method following.

Auto Search method

&

Turn on the desired device by pressing the

POWER

button on the device you

are attempting to program.

Press and hold the proper mode button

VCR

or

ACC

and press

simultaneously the

SURF

button, then release.

The device will begin to change channels after the remote identifies the
correct code.

When the channels start to change, release the

VCR

and

SURF

buttons.

The remote should be ready to operate the device
Note: If any other button is pressed during Auto Search, the search will be

ended. The remote keeps its previous code.
For devices DVD and CD, insert a disc and press

PLAY

on the device.

The remote control will send the command next track.
Switch AV receivers to

TUNER

function.

This method can take up to two minutes to perform.
Don’t let the device change more than five channels after the remote identifies
the code.
If no channel change happens within two minutes, repeat the steps mentioned
above. Should a channel change still not occur, the remote will not work the
desired device.
