Setting Access Control

Activating/Deactivating the
child lock
This function can prevent children from
viewing discs. This DVD recorder can
memorize settings for 50 discs. When in
use, a four-digit pin code must be entered
in order to play a disc.

Press SYSTEM-MENU on the remote
control.

The system menu appears on the TV.

Press 4 to select { Preferences }.

Press 2 repeatedly to select { Access }
and press 4 to confirm.

Use the alphanumeric keypad 0-9 to
enter your four-digit pin code (see page
62 “Setting and changing the pin code”.)

Press 4 to select { Child lock .}

Press 2 to select { On } or { Off } setting
and press 1 to confirm.

If you turn on the child lock feature,
you will need to enter the four-digit pin
code in order to play locked discs.
Alternatively, we can lock the disc while
in browser mode;

Press the BROWSER on the remote
control.

The disc content menu appears.

Press the matching color coded button
on the remote control to select
{ ChildLock .}
➜
The disc is now locked. You must
enter the four-digit pin code the next
time when you insert the disc.
Helpful Hint:
– Two-sided DVDs and multi-volume discs
may have a different ID for each side/
volume. To completely unlock these discs, you
must authorize each side/volume separately.
Authorizing discs
You can enable playback of a locked disc
by entering the four-digit pin code,
however, it will only allow play once.

Insert the disc.

If the disc has been locked (child lock
on,) the pin code entry menu will appear
on the TV.

Use the alphanumeric keypad 0-9 to
enter your four-digit pin code (see page
62 “Setting and changing the pin code”.)

Playback will begin.
If you later decide to unlock the disc
and allow play always;

Follow the steps described in ‘Activating/
Deactivating the child lock’ and select
{ Off } in the menu.
TIPS:
Press 1 to go back to previous menu item. Press SYSTEM-MENU to exit the menu.
