Taking Movies
The standard procedure for recording movies is described below.
1
Pull the grip out and rotate it into position.

Open the LCD monitor.

Press the power switch.
The camera turns on.

Press the C button.
Recording starts.
You can change the captured area by pressing
the Zoom/w/x lever to the right or left.
Press the lever gently to change the
captured area slowly and press it all the way
to change the area quickly.

: enlarges the subject.
w
: enlarges the captured area.

Press the C button again.
Recording stops.

• You are recommended to use a tripod to prevent camera shake when
taking pictures at a high magnification rate.
• The self-timer lamp lights during movie recording to show that
recording is in process.
• The LCD monitor swivel mechanism (1p.24) does not function during
movie recording.
• The zoom bar does not appear on the LCD monitor when zooming in
or out during movie recording.
• When the shutter release button is pressed during movie recording,
the focus is locked.
• Movie is recorded magnified about 1.2 times as large as still pictures.
