Using the AF Trigger
There are 2 ways to set the auto focus;
pressing the shutter button halfway or
pressing the [FOCUS] button.
Using the [FOCUS] button is effective to
prefocus the camera.
[Preparation]
• Set the mode dial except for [

You can set the auto focus by pressing the

Press the [MENU] button.
• The menu will disapear.
• Only when the [FOCUS] button is selected,

1 is displayed on
the LCD monitor/Viewfinder.

The prefocus technique is effective when you
try to take a picture of a subject which is
moving so fast that the focus is difficult to be
adjusted automatically. (For example, taking
pictures with the panning mode) (P47)

Set [AF TRIGGER] to [

Center the subject in the AF area
(P28), and press the [FOCUS] button.
• AF trigger will not operate until you press the
[FOCUS] button again, even if you press the
shutter button halfway.
• When setting [CONT.AF] to [ON], [AF TRIGGER] is fixed to [
