8.3.1 Basic Commands used for EchoLink

These commands are a representative set of basic commands. There are many commands in
addition to these. For details, refer to the EchoLink site at

http://www.echolink.org/Help/

Note: Each node owner has the option of changing the basic commands, particularly to avoid conflicts with other repeater

functions. Before using EchoLink over a nearby repeater, it is a good idea to try to contact the node owner, or

someone else familiar with the node, to see if there are any special operational rules.

8.3.2 EchoLink Memory Function of TM-D710A/E

You use this function for accessing nearby relay stations by using DTMF codes from
a TM-D710A/E or by transmitting a control command to the relay station. It is possible to register
a DTMF code up to a maximum of 8 digits in an EchoLink private DTMF memory (10 channels all
together).

8.3.2.1 Storing to an EchoLink Memory

1. Select Menu 204.
2. Turn the Tuning Control to select an EchoLink memory channel from [EL0] to [EL9].
3. Press the Tuning Control.

• The name input screen will appear.

4. Enter the EchoLink memory name.

• Enter the callsign of the target station that you want to call via EchoLink and the name of the

conference or the control command. Conference rooms allow you to have roundtable
QSOs.

5. Press the Tuning Control.

• The code input screen will appear.

6. Enter the EchoLink code.

• Enter the target station that you want to call via EchoLink and the node number of the

conference or the DTMF code, such as a control command.

Disconnects the station that is currently connected. If more than one station is
connected, disconnects only the most-recently-connected station.
