Appendix B: Remote Control Programming

IMPORTANT

The remote control may return to its initial

setting when the batteries are changed.

You may need to reprogram it.

Cable Boxes

Programming for Most Equipment Types

1. Move the slide switch at the top of the remote to the

position for the product you want to control.

2. Press and hold POWER on the remote control.

3. Enter the first three-digit code listed for your equip-

ment, and then release the POWER button on the
remote control.

4. Point the remote control at the equipment and press

the POWER button.

• If the equipment responds, the remote control is

properly programmed to operate the equipment.

• If the equipment does not respond, repeat steps

2–4 with the next three-digit code listed for your
equipment.

5. Once you have determined the correct code number,

mark it for future reference.

Special Programming for Use with an
A/V Receiver

If you frequently use an A/V receiver with the TV and your
other A/V equipment, use the following special program-
ming instructions. When programmed in this way, the

TV remote will control the volume and mute functions of

the A/V receiver no matter what the position of the slide
switch.

1. Program the AUDIO position for your A/V receiver as

described above. Make note of the correct code for
your A/V receiver.

2. Move the slide switch to the TV position.

3. Press and hold the POWER key.

4. While still holding the POWER key, enter the three-

digit code for your A/V receiver.

To Reset the Remote to Control TV Volume and Mute

Move the slide switch to TV. Program the remote with
three-digit code 935 using the procedure at the top of the
page.
