Installing PCI expansion cards

To replace, add, or reseat a PCI expansion card:

Follow the instructions in “Preventing static electricity discharge” on
page 27 .

Follow the instructions in “Opening the server case” on page 28 .

If you are replacing a card, disconnect any cables that are attached to the
old card.

If you are removing a full-length card, pull back on the card retention clip
that secures the end of the card.
- OR -
If you are adding a full-length card to an empty expansion slot, pull back
on the card retention clip for that slot.
