Auto punch in/out

By setting the punch-in and punch-out points in
advance, The recorder automatically makes
punch in/out recording for you.

Setting the punch-in and punch-out points

You can set the punch-in and punch-out points
while playing back the recorder (as well as you
can set them while stopped).

2) When the recorder reaches at the point where you

want to punch out, press the [LOCATE B/OUT] key
while holding down the [STORE] key.

The time value of the recorder position at which
you operate above is stored to the punch-out point,
while “Store LOCATE B” is shown on the display.

• If you are not satisfied with the punch-in or -

out point you set, simply redo the operation
above. The new point overwrites the previous
one.

• The punch-in and punch-out point data also

can be used for locate function, loop playback,
auto return function, part editing, etc.

3) Stop the recorder after setting the punch-in and

punch-out points.

Rehearsal

You can rehearse the auto punch in/out for
checking the punch-in and -out points or prac-
ticing punch-in and -out timing.

Pressing the [AUTO PUNCH]
key switches the auto punch
in/out mode on or off.
The key is lit when the mode is
on, while it is unlit when off.

1) Locate the recorder to the point before the punch-

in point.

You can locate to the punch-in point by press-
ing the [LOCATE A/IN] key. Therefore, by press-
ing the [LOCATE A/IN] key, followed by the [RE-
WIND] key then the [STOP] key, you can easily
locate the point above.

2) Press the [REC SELECT] key for the track you are

going to make punch in/out to arm the track.

3) Press the [AUTO PUNCH] key to make the auto

punch mode active (the [AUTO PUNCH] key lights
up).

" (AUTO PUNCH) is now shown on the

screen.

6) Rewind the recorder and play back the part you

made punch in/out to check the result.

If you are not satisfied with the result, use the undo
function to cancel the punch in/out recording and
try again.

[LOCATE A/IN] key while holding down the [STORE]
key.

while “Store LOCATE A” is shown on the display.

If a song is record-protected, you cannot store the
auto punch-in and punch-out points. If you want
to store these points, you must release the protec-
tion in advance (see page 20 and 60).
