Volume is reduced to minimum.
To cancel
Press [MUTING] again or reduce the volume to minimum (— dB),
then raise it to the required level.
Muting is also canceled when the unit is turned off.
Turning oft thejdisplay
Turn the display off for better viewing in a darkened room.
Press [DISPLAY].
To cancel, press [DISPLAY] again.
Timer functions
The SLEEP timer can turn the unit off after a set time and the WAKE
timer can turn it on. You can use only one timer at a time.
Preparation
Select the desired source.
• Disc
Press [DVD/CD] to display "DVD”, and insert an Audio CD, etc.
•The radio
Press [TUNER/BAND] to select “FM” or “AM" and tune in the de
sired station.

Press [SHIFT]-f-[TIMER] to select the
timer.
Each time you press the buttons;
SLEEP------ >WAKE---- -^OFF
The WAKE indicator lights when the wake timer is on.
Within 5 seconds,
Press and hold [SHIFT]+[TIMER] and
release when the timer you require is
displayed.
The display changes as follows:
• SLEEP (in minutes)
30------ ^60------ >90

•WAKE (in hours)
5H----->7H—>9H
• SLEEP starts working immediately.
•The unit turns off shortly after you turn the WAKE timer on.
To check the SLEEP setting
Press [SHIFT]-i-[TIMER] once.
•The time remaining appears.
To change the setting
Repeat the procedure from the beginning.
Using headphones

Reduce the volume and connect the
headphones (not included).
Headphone plug type: 3.5 mm ('/a") stereo

Adjust headphone volume with
[VOLUME].
Audio is automatically switched to stereo {2-channel}. If sound is
distorted, turn on dynamic range compression {^ page 28, Audio—
D. Range Compression),
Avoid listening for prolonged periods of time to prevent hearing
damage.
