Installation
This chapter explains how to physically install the AHA-1510A/20A
Series host adapter in your computer and connect SCSI devices to it.
The chapter takes you through each of the following steps:
■
Terminating the SCSI bus
■
Changing the SCSI IDs of devices that have duplicate IDs
■
Installing the host adapter in your computer
■
Connecting the SCSI devices to the host adapter

AHA-1510A/20A host adapters are configured to provide optimum
performance for most systems. Read Chapter 2, Host Adapter Config-
uration, to learn about changing host adapter configuration.
Note:
You cannot change the configuration of the
host adapter after it is installed unless you physically
remove it from your computer.
Host Adapter Layout
The major AHA-1520A/1522A components, including the internal
and external SCSI connectors, are shown in Figure 2-1 on page 2-2.
The major AHA-1510A components are shown in Figure 2-2 on page
2-2. You may find it helpful to refer to these diagrams while install-
ing the host adapter and attaching the cables.
