The E-mail function allows you to send e-mails (with an image attachment of the motion that has triggered an alarm) to your
designated e-mail addresses whenever motion has triggered an alarm in your selected areas.
The Phone function allows you to send a pre-recorded audio to a phone number whenever motion has triggered an alarm
in your selected areas. Note: You must have a voice modem in order to dial out to a phone number.
Important: In order for any of the functions, Message, Alert, E-mail, and Phone, to work, you must make sure that the
selected time frames for each function must overlap that of the Record function, as this case illustrates.
By activating the Record function (or Schedule Recording) and selecting time frames ensures that every
second that this particular camera points to will be recorded. Additionally, the recording frame rate will be
maximized (up to 15 frames per second) during Schedule Recording. The pros of Schedule Recording is
that you will not likely miss a significant frame, while the con of Schedule Recording is that you consume hard
drive space more quickly. To save on hard drive space for longer recording time, CyberEyes has two other
recording modes, Motion Recording (Step 6) and Auto Recording (time-lapse recording) (Step 7).
Step 6: Motion Detection
In order to activate Motion Recording, you must first activate Schedule Recording. After you have activated
Schedule Recording (activating the Record function of Channel Settings) and selected the time frames
(click the left mouse button and drag) for Schedule Recording, you must set the Motion Detection
parameters in order to record based on detected motion. If motion that counted as an alarm is present,
CyberEyes will record up to 15 frames per second for the duration of the detected motion. If motion that
counted as an alarm is absent, CyberEyes will be idle (will not record any frame) for the duration of the absent
The Record function determines your
weekly recording schedule (or
Schedule Recording), and whether or
not you want to have motion detection,
alarm notification, etc.. Therefore, you
must first activate the Record function
and select the time frames before
activating any other functions.
The Message, Alert, E-mail, and the
Phone functions are different alarm
notification mechanisms.
The Message function, only available
if your operating system is Windows
2000 or XP, allows you to send alert
messages to other computers
connected to the same Local Area
Network as your host computer
whenever motion has triggered an
alarm in your selected areas.
The Alert function plays a repeating
audio on the host computer whenever
motion has triggered an alarm in your
selected areas.
