5.5.2 Upgrade Firmware
You can upgrade new firmware for this MFP server on this screen. Click “Browse”
to select the new firmware, then click “OK.” The firmware will be updated within a
few minutes. NOTE: Be aware that if you have started upgrading firmware, you
need to follow all the upgrading steps or the MFP server can’t return to its normal
configuration.
6. lPr Printing
lPR (line Printer Remote) printing allows users to connect to printers via TCP/IP
for print sharing. A computer with a Windows 98Se/Me/NT/2000/XP/Server 200/
Vista operating system can use this protocol to share printing in the network. The
MFP server can support lPR printing by default.
If you install the MFP server in Windows 98Se/Me/NT, the MFP server provides
a Network Port Setup tool that helps to add the lPR protocol to users’ computers
easily (refer to Chapter 9).
To configure the LPR setting in Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista, follow the
steps below. Note that the following procedures and sample screen images are
representative. For each of the Windows platforms, the procedures are similar.
