Resetting the Camera
If your camera does not respond when you press any
buttons, reset the camera.
1. Turn off the camera.
2. If you have an optional memory card installed, remove it
to eliminate the memory card as a possible cause of the
problem.
3. Remove the camera battery.
4. Press the straightened end of
a paper clip into the Reset
switch (the small hole located
above the battery slot, as
shown) until the switch is
depressed, hold the switch
down for three to six seconds,
then remove the paper clip.
5. Reinstall the battery and close
the Battery/Memory card door.
6. After verifying that the camera works without an optional
memory card, reinstall the card if you removed one in
Step 2.
Resetting the camera returns all settings to their factory
defaults. Images stored in memory or on a memory card are
retained. Date and time settings are also retained unless you
removed the battery for a prolonged period of time.
