z Using the FINALIZE button to
finalize a disc
Press FINALIZE while recording
pause or the disc navigation screen is
displayed. A confirmation screen for
finalization appears. Select “YES”,
then press the confirmation button to
start finalizing.
You can unfinalize a DVD-RW (VF
mode) finalized on this camcorder so
that additional recording can be done
on it.
Notes
• If the disc in the camcorder has
already been finalized, “Finalize
Disc” does not appear in the
menu.
• The time required to finalize that
appears on the “Finalize Disc”
screen is only for reference.
• In case of a DVD-R, it takes
longer to finalize it if recording
length is short.
• For a DVD-RW which has
previously been finalized, the
next finalization may be quicker.
Unfinalizing a Disc

Press DISC NAVIGATION, and
then press MENU.

“Disc Setting” “Unfinalize Disc”,
then press the confirmation button.
A confirmation screen for
unfinalization appears.

Select “YES”, then press the
confirmation button.
The message showing that the
disc is being unfinalized will
appear, and then the disc will be
unfinalized.

Hint
A finalized DVD-RW (VR mode)
can be recorded as is, without
being unfinalized.
