message arrived. However, you can toggle between the date and time by
pressing the * key.
2. Press Y E S to read the first line of the message.
Scroll through the message using the L E F T and R I G H T keys. R I G H T
takes you forwards, and L E F T takes you backwards through the message.
To move three lines forward, press 3 . To move three lines backwards,
press 1 . To return to the beginning of the message, press and hold L E F T .
3. The message Reply? appears after the last line of the message. If the caller
wants you to reply, the displayed message says Reply Requested Reply? pro-
vided your network supports this feature.
To read the message later
• Press N O when the message NewMessage Read now? appears in the display.
The message is stored in the phone memory and a letter icon (Mm) appears
on the left at the bottom of the display. See “Reading Stored Messages” on
page 58.
After reading a message you are asked if you want to reply.
To reply to a message
1. Press Y E S when you see the Reply? prompt at the end of the message.
Your display now looks like the picture in the margin.
2. To enter your message, press Y E S and proceed as described in “Sending a
Text Message” on page 55.
If you do not want to reply:
• Press N O .
Note! If the sender of the message wants you to reply, the message Reply
Requested Reply? , appears instead of Reply? .
After reading a message you are asked if you want to reply.
To erase the message
1. Press N O when you see the Reply? prompt.
The message Erase? appears in the display.
2. Press Y E S to erase the message.
The next message automatically appears in the message list.
Note! You can also press C L R anywhere within the message to erase it. When
Erase? appears, press Y E S .
