System overview
The ServeView Pro is designed to provide seamless, trouble-free switching
from a single KVM station to any connected computer or server. You can
switch to any of the connected computers by simple keyboard commands,
the front panel – or + buttons, or from a computer terminal or standalone
PC connected to the RS/232 serial port (not connected to a CPU port).
If your system demands are greater than a single unit can provide, the
ServeView Pro can be easily expanded to connect up to 256 computers by
chaining units together with expansion cables.
KVM station
A KVM station consisting of a keyboard, monitor, and mouse connects to
the ServeView Pro’s DB25F connector labeled KVM-1 or
“MONITOR/KEYBOARD/MOUSE”.
CPU connection
All CPU connectors on the ServeView Pro are DB25F. The CPUs are
connected using a CPU cable designed to interface with the CPU keyboard,
monitor, and mouse ports. A CPU cable is needed for each connected
computer.
