Remove any adjustment tools or wrenches before you switch on the tool. An
adjustment tool or wrench left in a rotating tool part may lead to injuries.
Avoid abnormal posture. Ensure proper footing and keep balance at all times. This
allows better control of the tool in unexpected situations.
Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair,
clothes and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair can
be caught in moving parts.
If dust extraction and collection devices can be installed, make sure that they are
connected and properly used. The use of these devices reduces dust-related
hazards.
Use protective equipment. Wear safety goggles. Wear a breathing mask for dusty
work.
4.3 Careful handling and use of tools
Do not use low-power tools for heavy-duty work. The correct tool will do the job better
and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
Check the tool for any damage. Before re-using the tool, carefully check that
protective devices function properly and as intended. Make sure that the moving
parts work properly and do not jam, that the parts are not damaged. All parts must be
correctly fitted and all requirements fulfilled to ensure faultless operation of the tool.
Defective switches must be replaced by a specialist contractor. Do not use any tool if
the switch cannot be turned on and off.
Unplug the tool when not in use, before servicing and changing accessories or tool
attachments such as chisel, drill, saw blade, cutter. This precautionary measure
prevents unintentional starting of the tool.
Unused tools must be stored in a dry, high or locked place, out of reach of children.
Do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to use the
tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of inexperienced users.
Take proper care of the tool. Check whether the moving parts function smoothly and
do not jam, whether parts are broken or damaged. Damaged tools must not be used.
Have damaged parts repaired before using the tool. Many accidents have their origin
in poorly maintained tools.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
Do not use the tool for purposes not intended. For example, do not use a circular saw
to cut tree limbs or logs. The use of tools for applications different from those
intended may lead to dangerous situations.
Keep the handles dry, clean, and free of oil and grease.
4.4 Service
Have your tool repaired only by qualified personnel and only with original spare parts.
This will ensure that the tool safety is maintained.
