5.7 DC overvoltage protection
The DC overvoltage protection protects the inverter and the photovoltaic
modules from couplings via the string lines.
The varistors can generally be activated several times before they are damaged.
If one of the varistors becomes defective, this is indicated by a red window in
the front panel. The defective overvoltage protector will have to be replaced.
Replacing DC overvoltage protector
↻ Disconnect the device from the power supply.
↻ Observe safety instructions.
1. Pull defective DC overvoltage protector from its holder.
2. Insert a new DC overvoltage protector into the holder.
The overvoltage protection can also be connected to a data logger via the FS contact.
5.8 Connecting earth conductors
Earth conductors designed for the requirements must be installed in models with overvoltage protection.
Observe the required conductor cross-sections:
Specification Conductor cross-section
Earth conductor for overvoltage protection min. 6 mm²
Equipotential bonding without external lighting protection min. 6 mm²
Equipotential bonding with external lighting protection min. 16 mm²
