6.6 Wire Sizing (Optional)
Overview Area
1. If the PV system is to have a subdistribution, activate the checkbox Project subdistribution available (LV3).
The Graphic area is adjusted and the AC2 cables tab is added.
2. If an MV transformer is to be present in the PV system, activate the checkbox Medium-voltage line and
MV transformer available (MV). The Graphic area is adjusted and the MV transformer tab is added.
Configuration Area
The diagram shows the cable routes in the PV system:
• DC indicates the cables from the inverter to the first PV module in the string.
• LV1 indicates the cables from the inverter to a possible subdistribution in the subproject or directly to the feed-in
point.
• LV2 indicates the cables from a possible subdistribution in the subproject to the subdistribution of the total project.
• LV3 indicates the cables from the possible subdistributions to the possible MV transformer.
• Transformer / MV indicates the cables from a possible MV transformer or from a possible subdistribution to the
feed-in point.

1. To take account of the line losses in the yield forecast, choose Enter project data in the main menu and, in the area
Advanced project data > Line losses, select the button [Edit] and activate the checkbox DC or AC.
2. Select the tab of the required cable.
3. Select the required fields in the column Cable material, Single length and Cross-section and make the required
settings. The values for Current, Voltage, Voltage drop and Rel. power loss are calculated automatically.
