ACL—Access Control List.
•
ASCII—Unencrypted passwords transmitted over a network.
•
Authorization command—Shell profile and command set.
•
Authorization policy—Set of rules that control device user privileges (such as authorization
commands) based on authorization conditions.
•
Blacklist—Function used by an operator to block a device user for malicious logging in and to
protect valid users and avoid invalid logins. The blacklisted device user is prevented from logging
in.

CHAP—Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol.
•
CLI—Command Line Interface.
•
Command set—Controls commands that a device user can execute after login.
•
Console—Display device for system administration.
•
Device user—Network maintainer that uses an account name and password to log in to manage a
device.

FTP—File Transfer Protocol.

IMC—Intelligent Management Center.
