Installing Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows Server 2008 R2 by

booting from USB disk

This section describes how to install Windows 7 Ultimate by booting from USB disk.

Configuring the software

1.

Insert a USB disk into the PC installed with Windows 7.

2.

Copy the files on the Windows 7 Ultimate installation CD to the USB disk, create the subdirectory
myshare in the root directory of the USB disk, and copy Intel 82574 and Marvell 88E8070 to the

myshare directory by following

Install AIK, and copy the files in KB3AIK_CN.iso to the USB disk by using uiso9_cn.exe.

4.

Open the Windows System Image Manager as an administrator to generate the automatic
response file autounattend.xml (which must match the OAP/OAPS module configuration) for the

corresponding image, and use Imagex to integrate the autounattend.xml file to the boot.wim file

in the sources directory of the USB disk.
