6.6 Importance of Presets
In a live broadcast situation, the ability to preview metadata parameters is limited. The
DP570 presets are therefore very valuable. Preconfigured presets for news, sports, or
music, as well as other live events, provide the flexibility necessary for use during setup,
rehearsals, and final broadcast.
Preset development, of course, can only be a product of experience, but that experience can
be passed on easily with the DP570. A seasoned engineer can save presets for the live
events to be produced. A less‐experienced engineer has only to select the appropriate
preset for the event, and is then free to focus on other issues. In this situation, the engineer
at the live event can confirm the validity of the chosen metadata by monitoring the effects
with the DP570.
