Troubleshooting
The DSS
®
System Test allows you to run a basic diagnostics check on
your DSS
®
system. If you are experiencing any trouble with your
system, run the system test.
Make sure that
•
All connections—jacks, cables, etc. are correctly in place. See the
section, Connecting Your DSS
®
Receiver, for more information.
•
There are batteries in the remote, and that they are working
correctly.
•
The access card is installed in the receiver.
Running the System Test
Follow these steps to run the diagnostics system test on your system.
1. Turn on your TV and the DSS
®
receiver.
2. Press DSS to put remote in DSS
®
system mode, then press
MENU•SELECT to bring up the Main menu.
3. Point to and select
Options.
4. Point to and select
System Options.
5. Point to and select
System Test.
6. If your system does not pass the system test, check any of these
potential trouble areas: cabling, pointing the satellite dish, phone
connection, and access card.
