Throttle Cable Adjustment
WHEN PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE, YOU MUST FIRST SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, WAIT FIVE (5)
MINUTES TO ALLOW PARTS TO COOL AND DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG WIRE, KEEPING IT AWAY
FROM THE SPARK PLUG.
Tool Needed:
•
5/16" Socket or Nut Driver
1. Using a 5/16" Socket or Nut Driver, loosen the Bowden Clamp holding the Throttle Cable Sheath to the
Engine (Figure 24).
2. Pull the Throttle Control Lever up and all the way back to the STOP position. Note the location of the
End of the Throttle Cable Sheath (Figure 24).
3. Slowly move the Throttle Control Lever forward until the Throttle Cable Sheath travels about 1/8" from
the noted location in step 2.
4. Hold the Throttle Cable Sheath in place and tighten the Bowden Clamp.
5. Check the travel of the Throttle Control Lever to make sure the STOP and FAST positions are attainable.
