WHEN PERFORMING ANY MAINTENANCE, YOU MUST FIRST SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, WAIT FIVE (5)
MINUTES TO ALLOW PARTS TO COOL AND DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG WIRE, KEEPING IT AWAY
FROM THE SPARK PLUG.

Tools and Supplies Needed:

9/16" Socket w/Extension and Universal Joint

7/16" Socket with 6" Extension

(2) Pry Bar or Long Bladed Screwdriver

Jack Stands or blocks to support the machine

Anti-Seize Compound (recommended)

Removing the Impeller:

1. Drain the fuel and oil from the vacuum. See page 35.

2. Remove the Belt Cover using a 7/16" Socket with a

6" Extension to remove the four (4) 1/4" Cover
Bolts (Figure 19).

3. Detach the Drive Belt from the Transmission Pulley

by rotating the Transmission Assembly to relieve
the Belt tension.

4. Using a 7/16" Socket with 6" Extension, remove

the six (6) 1/4" Bolts, Lock Washers and Flat
Washers (Figure 20) attaching the Engine
Mounting Plate to the Impeller Housing.

5. Remove the Engine, Impeller and Mounting Plate,

as an assembly, by inverting and supporting the
Engine on it’s top with the Impeller facing up so as
not to damage the Recoil Starter.

6. Leaving the Engine attached to the Mounting Plate

and using a 9/16" Socket, remove the Impeller Bolt
and Lock Washer and then slide the Impeller off
the Engine Crankshaft (Figure 20).

Tip: A gear or wheel puller may be helpful.

NOTE: Do not drop the Impeller.

7. If the Impeller does not slide off the Engine

Crankshaft, place two (2) Pry Bars between
Impeller and Mounting Plate on opposite sides.
Carefully and evenly, pry the Impeller away from
