The I.O.M. head uses a 25 mm filter housed in a cassette, which is
pre-weighed as a single unit. The cassette fits in the I.O.M. head as shown in
Figure 1. It should be operated with a flow rate of 2 litres/min.

Total Inhalable Dust Sampler /
7 Hole Head (Part No. B8254/Z)
The Total Inhalable Head (shown in Figure 2)
was developed from the lead sampling head,
by adding six symmetrically placed holes
around the central hole.
It is one of the most commonly used sampling
heads and is also known as the Seven Hole
Head (7HH), or head for Man Made Mineral
Fibres, (M.M.M.F.).
A 25 mm filter is used. The type of filter depends upon the
application, and the end analysis involved. This head should be operated with
a flow rate of 2 litres/min.
3.3
Conical Inhalable Sampler
CIS Head (Part No. P118200;
CIS Cassette (Part No. P118201)
The conical inhalable sampler is used where
there is a need to sample a high concentration
of particulate. Therefore it uses the larger 37
mm filter. The cone is designed to spread the
sampled dust evenly over the filter which is
housed in a cassette, as shown in the Figure 3.
The cassette complete with 37 mm
filter are pre-weighed as a single unit. This
head should be operated with a flow rate of 3.5
litres/min.
