Rear Panel
All connections are made on the rear panel, which is shown below.
Connections from left to right
•
POWER: Connect to the supplied external 5 Volt DC power supply.
•
RS-232: Connect the supplied external 5 Volt DC at 5 Amp power supply.
•
Analog Video output: Provides analog RGB or component video output.
•
DVI-I Video output: Provides digital (DVI-D) video output.
•
INPUT 0 to INPUT 9: Standard input connections.
Input 0: SDI (Serial-Digital-Interface)
Input 1 to 4: DVI-I with HDCP support. Can be DVI-D or DVI-A (VGA)
Input 5 and 6: SD/HD Component, RGsB, RGBS, or SCART
Input 7: Composite
Input 8 and 9: SVideo (SVID) or composite (VID on the Y channel)
RS-232
The RS232 serial port allows the use of an external home theater RS232 controller. This is the
same as a PC DB9 serial port, except no “flow-control” is used. For updates, connect to a PC
using the supplied DB9-F to DB9-F null-modem cable.
Analog Video Output
The analog output supports RGBHV (default, MENU 012 OK), RGBS (TTL composite sync, MENU
013 OK), RGsB (sync-on-green, MENU 014 OK), or component (MENU 011 OK), using BNC
connectors. For component output the Y channel is connected to green, the P
R
channel to red
and the P
B
channel to blue. Digital output uses a DVI-D connection, which can also drive a HDMI
display using a “DVI-D to HDMI” adaptor cable.
Video Inputs
•
Input 0 is a standard-definition Serial-Digital-Interface (SDI) input. If desired this input
can be reprogrammed to use the cvS6 input connection as a separate composite video
input (MENU
→
IN
→
TYPE
→
VID), replacing the SDI input.
•
Inputs 1 to 4 are DVI-I. These inputs can be independently selected as either DVI-D
(MENU
→
IN
→
TYPE
→
DVI-D), or as RGBHV video (MENU
→
IN
→
TYPE
→
DVI-A)
on the DVI-A pins of the connector.
•
Inputs 5 and 6 can be component (also called YP
B
P
R
, MENU
→
IN
→
TYPE
→
(HDYPBPR, SDYPBPR)), RGsB (sync-on-green, MENU
→
IN
→
TYPE
→
RGsB), RGBS
(TTL composite sync, MENU
→
IN
→
TYPE
→
RGBS), or SCART (MENU
→
IN
→
TYPE
→
SCART). For input 5 in SCART mode, VID7 is used as the cvS input. For RGB formats,
the Y channel is used for green, the P
B
for blue and P
R
for red. cvS6 is composite if
Input0 type is set to “VID”.
•
Input 7 is composite (or it can be used as composite-sync for SCART mode for input 5).
•
Inputs 8 and 9 are SVideo, but can be selected as composite (MENU
→
IN
→
TYPE
→
VID).
