MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
• Select the
Alkalinity method using the procedure described in the
Method Selection section (see page 15).
• Fill the cuvette with 10 mL of unreacted sample, up to the mark,
and replace the cap.
• Place the cuvette into the holder and close the lid.
• Press the
Zero key. The display will show “-0.0-” when the meter is zeroed and ready for
measurement.
ALKALINITY
Alkalinity
10 mL
• Remove the cuvette.
• Carefully add exactly 1 mL of HI 93755-0 Liquid Alkalinity
Reagent using the supplied syringe.
• Replace the cap and invert 5 times.
• Reinsert the cuvette into the instrument and close the lid.
• Press
Read to start the reading.
• The instrument displays the results in
mg/L of alkalinity (CaCO
3
).
Note: If using a meter with software version 1.14 or earlier, readings can be improved for samples
with less than 75 ppm alkalinity by adding 0.7 mL of reagent instead of 1.0 mL.
