You can switch display devices, and configure display options, from the Display control panel (in Appearances
and Personalization) in Windows 8when running the Desktop app (see
“Desktop Application” on page 1 - 40 ).
Microsoft Hybrid Graphics
Your computer will feature Microsoft Hybrid Graphics switchable graphics technology. This seamless tech-
nology is designed to get best performance from the graphics system while allowing longer battery life, without
having to manually change settings. The computer will automatically switch between the integrated UMA (Uni-
fied Memory Architecture) GPU (iGPU) and the discrete GPU (dGPU) when required by the applications in
use. This switch is seamless to the user (see
Appendix C ).
