TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
PROBLEM CAUSE CORRECTION
Loss of power • Cutting too much grass/too
fast.
• Set In “Higher Cut” position/
reduce speed.
• Throttle in “CHOKE”
position.
• Adjust throttle control.
• Build-up of grass, leaves
and trash under mower.
• Clean underside of mower
housing.
• Dirty air filter. • Clean/replace air filter.
• Low oil level/ditly oil. • Check oil level/change oil.
• Faulty spark plug. • Clean and regap or change
spark plug.
• Dirty fuel filter. • Replace fuel filter.
» Stale or dirty fuel. •,, Drain fuel tank and refill with
fresh gasoline.
• Water in fuel. • Drain fuel tank and carbure­
tor, refill tank with fresh
gasoline and replace fuel
filter.
• Spark plug wire loose. • Connect and tighten spark
plug wire.
• Dirty engine air screen/fins. • Clean engine air screen/fins.
• Dirty/clogged muffler. • Clean/replace muffler.
• Loose or damaged wiring. • Check all wiring.
• Carburetor out of
adjustment.

Excessive

• Worn, bent or loose blade. • Replace blade.
Tighten blade bolt.
