Trouble Probable Cause

Improperly threaded
Refer to threading instructions see page No. 8 and
rethread machine.
Too much tension
Loosen tension on upper thread by turning thread
tension knob to lower number.
Upper thread
breaking Starting with take up in in­
correct position
Always start sewing with take up lever in highest
position.
improper setting of needle
Refer to needle setting instructions see page No. 6.
Bent or eye of needle too sharp Try a new needle.
Bent or blunt needle
Discard all blunt or bent needles and replace with
new. '
Tensions too tight
See tensions adjustment page No. 10.
Material
puckering Dull needle Change needle.
Stitch length too long Reduce stitch length.
