OPERATION

FILL GAS:

Fill the fuel lank with cle^, fresh, unleaded grade

automotive gasoline. Be sure that the cortatneryou pour
the gasoline from is clean and free from rusf or other
foreign pailWes. Never use gasoline that may be stale
from tong penods of storage in the container.

NOTE: S A E 5W-30 motor oil may be used to make
starting easier in areas where the temperature is 20° F
or tower.

WABNING: Experience indicates that alcohol blended
fuels (called gasohol or those using ethanol or methanol)
can attract moisture which leads to separation and for*

malion of acids during storage. Acidic gas can damage

the fuel system of an engine while in storage.

To avoid engine problems, the fuel system should be

emptied before storage for 30 days or longer Start the
engine and let it run until the fuel lines and carburetor are
empty. Use the carburetor bowl drain to empty residual
gasoline from the float chamber (Fig. 42) Use fresh fuel

next season. (See Storage fnstrucftons on page 25 for
additional information.)

Never use engine or carburetor cleaner products in the
fuel tank or pemranent damage may occur.
