1. Drill a 3-inch (76 mm) diameter hole on a flat spot on top of
the holding tank with a 3-inch hole saw.
2. Determine the required length of the PVC pipe, using the
formula below:
3. Cut pipe squarely and remove burrs.
4. Clean all surfaces with PVC cleaner. Following instructions

on PVC cement, assemble pick-up adapter to one end of pipe.
5. Slide sealing grommet onto PVC pipe, with wide end toward top of pipe (see diagram).
6. Assemble top fitting to PVC pipe with PVC cement.
7. Lubricate inside surface of sealing grommet and outer diameter of narrow end of top fitting with liquid
dishwashing soap.
8. Insert the diptube assembly into the 3-inch hole and press the sealing grommet into the hole.
9. Insert the diptube assembly into the sealing grommet.
