Before Calling Service Personnel

Check the following guide for the possible cause of a problem before requesting service.

• Turn on the equipment connected with the

The playback picture has

occasional distortion.

• The disc is dirty.

• Eject the disc and clean it.

• It is in fast fonward or fast reverse

playback.

• Sometimes a small amount of picture

distortion may appear. This is not a
malfunction.

Brightness is unstable or noise is
noticeable on playback pictures.

• The copy protection is in effect.

• Connect the DVD video player directly to

the TV. Avoid connecting the DVD video

player to a VCR orTVA/CR combination.

The DVD video player does not
start playback.

• No disc is inserted.

• Insert a disc. (Check that the DVD, VCD,

or audio CD indicator in the DVD display
is lit.)

• An unplayable disc is inserted.

• Insert a playable disc. (Check the disc

type and color system.)

• Place the disc with the playback side

down (label facing up).

• Place the disc correctly inside the guide in

The remote control does not work

remote sensor of the DVD video player.

• Point the remote control at the remote

sensor of the DVD video player.

• Operate the remote control within about

20 feet.
