3. Install Torrington bearing on the back of the upper timing chain gear.
4. Install camshaft timing gear with the chain. Make sure that the dot on the upper gear now lines up with
your selected cam timing on the outer edge of the lower timing gear.
5. Install oil pump drive into the oil pump to ensure proper engagement.
6. Install the assembly together making sure the pickup tube also is installed with the blue o-ring. Install
the oil pump spacers to make room for the double roller timing chain.
Note: The driver’s side shim must be installed correctly. Improper orientation will partially block oil
flow from the oil pump. Ensure the holes line up or catastrophic engine damage may occur.
