QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
VOLUME CONTROLS
•The handset has digital volume
controls.
• The volume controls for the handset
are located on the side of the unit.
Press the A (up) or V (down)
keys to increase or decrease the
volume.

SETTING THE RING TYPE
• Press and hold SETUP until you hear
a beep.
• UseREPEATandSKIPkeys to select
ring type (2, 4 or toll saver).
• Press STOP to exit.
SETTING THE SECURITY CODE
• Press and hold SETUP until you hear
a beep.
• Press SETUP again briefly.
• Use REPEAT and SKIP keys to select
security code (0-99).
• Press STOP.
SETTING THE MAILBOXES
• Press and hold SETUP until you hear
a beep.
• Press SETUP 5 times until the
MAILBOX icon is illuminated.
• Use REPEAT and SKIP keys until
you've reached the desired mailbox
selection.
• Press STOP.
RECORDINGTHE ANNOUNCEMENT
• Press ANNC until you've reached
the desired Announcement (1 or 2).
• Press and hold ANNC until you hear
a beep.
• Record your Announcement.
• Press ANNC or STOP.
LISTENING TO MESSAGES
• Press MAILBOX key until the desired
mailbox appears on the display.
• Press PLAY.
• REPEAT and SKIP keys can be used
to scan forwards or backwards through
messages.
• Press STOP to exit.
SETTING THE CLOCK
• Press and hold SETUP until you hear
a beep.
• Press SETUP briefly 2 times.
• UseREPEATandSKIPkeys to select
the correct day.
• Each press of SETUP allows you to
skip to the next step, in the order: day,
hour, minute.
• Press STOP once clock is set.

CORDLESS PHONE OPERATION
Making Calls
Pick up the handset and press PHONE.
When you hear a dial tone, dial the
number. The indicator for IN USE (on
the base unit) and PHONE (on the
handset) will light.
If you make a mistake when dialing,
press OFF to hang up, then press
PHONE to get the dial tone again.
You must always press PHONE before
you can dial a call on the handset.
Disconnecting
To end a call, either place the handset
back In the base, or press OFF on the
handset.
To Put A Call On Hold
While using the handset, you can put a
call on hold by pressing HOLD. The
PHONE indicator on the handset will
blink to show that a cail is on hold.
To return to the call, press PHONE.
If a call is on HOLD using the VTech
900iand you pick up another phone on
the same line, the VTech 900/wili take
itself off HOLD and turn OFF. Therefore,
you do not have to go back to turn the
phone OFF if you go to another
extension. It is done automaticaliy.
The Mute Feature
When you press MUTE while using the
handset, you can hearthecaller’s voice,
but they can’t hear you. Use this feature
to speak to someone in the room without
your caller hearing. While the call Is
muted, the MUTE/LO ВАТТ Indicator
will be lit. To go back to the two-way
conversation, press MUTE again.
