The time and day stamp is announced
after each message is played.
After all messages and memos have
been played, the final voice prompt will
be "End of messages".
NOTE: If the phone rings while you are
playing messages at the ITAD base,
you can stop message playback by
pressing STOP at the base.
Message/memo playback begins with
a voice prompt indicating the total
number of messages present in the
current mailbox selection. It then
proceeds to play the messages; the
most recently recorded messages are
heard first. New messages are
preceeded with the voice prompt "New
message"and memos are preceeded
with the voice prompt "Memo" (new
memos are preceeded by "New
memo").
Remote operation allows you control
the functions of the VTech 900i when
you are away from the base unit.
Therefore remote operation can be
accessed from the handset of your
9001 cordless phone or at a phone
connected to a different telephone line.
The ITAD cannot be accessed from
another telephone on the same line as
your VTech 900i.
You can access many of the ITAD
functions from a remote location such
as listening to messages, changing
recorded announcement, and recording
a memo.
To access the ITAD from a remote
location you must use a phone with
Touch Tone Service. Remote operation
can only be accessed from a touch
tone phone. If the remote phone is set
to pulse dialing, switch it to tone. If tone
dialing is not available you will not be
able to access the ITAD.
ACTIVATING REMOTE OPERATION
To activate remote operation from
your cordless handset
1. Pick up handset and press PHONE
to get a line, you will hear a dial
tone.
2. If your phone is set on pulse dial,
press the • key to enter touch tone
dialing mode. Otherwise omit this
step.
3. Press the • key followed by the #
key within 10 seconds. This enables
you to release the connection to the
phone line and allows you to
communicate directly with the ITAD.
If a mistake is made press the
PHONE key again and re-enter the
* followed by #.
4. You did it! You are now in remote
operation mode. Now you will hear
a series of voice prompts. You will
use the number keys to control any
of the available ITAD functions.
Note: Whenever you access the ITAD
from the 900i handset by pressing
PHONE, *, #, the ITAD will be
automatically turned ON.
To activate remote operation from a
different teiephone iine
1. Dial the telephone number of your
VTec/i900/and waitforthe ITAD to
answer. If the ITAD is OFF when
you call, simply let the ITAD ring 10
times, and it will automatically turn
itself on and answer your call.
2. Once the ITAD answers, it will begin
playing the currently selected
announcement
(as with any
incoming call).
3. Enter the * key followed by the 2
digit security code during the
announcement.
