DISPLAY MODE
Functions requiring a special display
The bold, underlining, and super/subscript functions work in the same way as
in printing mode, but have a special display. The following table shows how
these functions are displayed.

Underlined character
The character flashes, showing alternately the
normal character and the underlining.
Example: Page = Page and________
Bold character
The character flashes, showing alternately the
normal character and an upper line.
Example:

Superscript
The character in superscript alternates with the
symbol (4^). The shape of the cursor change
from □ to
Example: mc^ = mc2 and me 4=
Subscript
The character in subscript is alternately dis
played with the symbol (4=). The shape of the
cursor changes from 0 to □.
Example: HgO = H20 and H4=0
Permanent hyphen
Displayed with the symbol (^^).
Ghost hyphen (hyphen
typed in the hot zone)
Displayed as three dots (-).
Permanent space
Displayed with the symbol (^).
