PROBLEM
CAUSE & REMEDY
[LOCATOR/INTERCOM] does
not function
•The handset is too far from the mam unit or is engaged in an outside
call

• If your line has special telephone services such as call waiting, the
service may have been activated during fax transmission Connect the
unit to a line that does not have such services
•An extension telephone on the same line is off the hook Hang up and
try again
The other party complains that
dirty patterns or black lines
appear on their received
documents
•The glass or rollers are dirty Clean them (see page 63)
I cannot make an international
fax call.
•Use the overseas transmission mode (see page 40)
•Add two pauses at the end of the phone number (see page 37)

•The junk mail prohibitor is set to on (see page 42)
The recording image is faint.
•The sender transmitted a faint document Request them to transmit a
clearer copy of the document

•The recording paper roll is installed incorrectly Make sure that the shiny
side of the paper is facing down and re-install the paper (see page 10)
