Each I/O card includes three LEDs and one switch for each port:
• LOS: On when no signal is present on the input
• AIS: On when an "all 1s" signal is present on the input
• LOOP: Follows the Port MODE switch and software management; shows active loopback
• MODE switch: For local loopback, set to LOC; for normal operation, set to NOR; for remote
loopback, set to REM; to control the operating mode through software, set to NOR
Figures 1 and 2 show the locations of the system setup switches and LEDs. The LEDs listed in
Table 2 are located on the front and rear panels of the chassis:
Note: A single power supply is always installed in power supply B location and the PWRB LED
shows its status.

When power-up is successful and data is transmitting normally across the link, the power LED(s)
lights green, the SLV LED lights red if in slave mode, the redundant optics LED matches the switch
setting, the activity LED on the SNMP module flashes, and all other LEDs on the chassis and I/O
cards are off.
