Replacing the EP-22 Cartridge
The EP-22 cartridge typically lasts for about 2,500 prints of Letter or A4-
size paper. This assumes that the printer is used for standard word
processing documents printed at the default density, and at 4% dot ratio
(equivalent to print coverage of approximately 5%). The actual cartridge
life depends on the average page coverage of your printed documents. If
your documents have on average less text with lots of white space, the
cartridge lasts longer. However, if you frequently print graphics and text,
the cartridge life is shorter.
When a print quality problem cannot be corrected following the steps in
chapter 4, “Troubleshooting,” it is probably time to replace the cartridge
with a new one.
1.
Grasp the top of the front cover on both sides, then gently pull the
cover until it is fully open.
