Print Quality Problems
Printout Has Vertical White Streaks
Vertical white streaks, similar to the sample below, result when toner is
low or unevenly distributed.
Corrective action
1.
Open the front cover and take out the EP-22 cartridge.
2.
Rock the cartridge gently from side to side five or six times to evenly
distribute the toner inside. (For more information, see “Installing the
EP-22 Cartridge” in the Getting Started Guide.)
3.
Insert the cartridge into the printer.
4.
Close the front cover and try to print again.
If the problem persists, the cartridge has probably expired. Replace it
with a new one, using the steps described in “Installing the EP-22
Cartridge” in the Getting Started Guide.
When purchasing a replacement cartridge, make sure you get the right
one for this printer: a Canon EP-22 cartridge.
The EP-22 cartridge typically lasts for about 2,500 prints of Letter- or
A4-size paper, assuming the printer is used for standard word processing
documents printed at the default density, and at 4% dot ratio (equivalent
to print coverage of approximately 5%). The actual cartridge life depends
on the average page coverage of your printed documents.
