CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
LUMINAIRE, HEADBAND, AND FIBER OPTIC BUNDLE:
CAUTION: Turn off light source before disconnecting fiber optic bundle from
headlight or light source.
Exterior surfaces of luminaire, headband, and fiber optic bundle can be wiped
clean with any of these solutions:

Banicide
l
10% bleach
l
Cidex, CidexPlus, Cidex 7
l
Metracide
l
70% isopropyl alcohol
l
Wavecide-01
l
10% Wescodyne
l
mild soap
Keep ends of fiber optic bundle clean by wiping with a damp cloth. Allow to dry
before use.
Avoid scratching or striking ends of fiber optic bundle. Light transmission losses
can result.
To inspect fiber optic bundle for light transmission losses, remove from light
source and headlight assembly. Hold one end of fiber optic bundle up to room
lighting. Examine other end. Replace fiber optic bundle if 25% or more of end area
is dark.
JOYSTICK:
Joystick can be sterilized by steam autoclave. Unscrew from luminaire and process
in a standard steam autoclave.
