Cabling
All external ports are located at the back of the head (see Fig. 2 on page 12). When installing
cabling, it is important that all cables are dressed and secured to prevent any interference with
the pan and tilt movements of the head. Cables can be secured using the cable restraint [10]
located on the back of the head. Note that the weight of the cables affects the balance of the head.
Power and Ethernet connections
The head has an internal power supply unit that allows for mains power to be supplied to the head
from a Fusion pedestal or height drive, or directly from the studio supply. The Ethernet port [6]
can also be connected either directly to the studio Ethernet data communications or to an
Ethernet port on a Fusion pedestal or height drive.
A floor cable can be used to connect the head to the studio power and Ethernet communications.
Alternatively, a shorter combined cable (Head communication cable) is supplied with Fusion
pedestals and height drives to provide direct connections between them and the head, thereby
reducing the number of cables crossing the studio floor.
Connecting the head to an FP-188 pedestal/FPH-188 height drive
When mounted onto a Fusion FP-188 pedestal or FPH-188 height drive, use the Head
communication cable (supplied with the pedestal or height drive) to connect power and Ethernet
data communication from the pedestal or height drive to the head (Fig. 8).
