1 Fuel filler flap
2 Fuel filler cap
X Turn off the engine.
i Leaving the engine running and the fuel
filler cap open can cause the yellow fuel
tank reserve warning lamp to flash and the
malfunction indicator lamp

only) or ± (Canada only) to illuminate.

X Remove the SmartKey from the starter
switch.
X Opening: Push fuel filler flap 1 at the
point indicated by the arrow.
X Turn fuel filler cap 2 counterclockwise.
X Take off fuel filler cap 2 .
X Place fuel filler cap 2 in direction of arrow
into the holder located on the inside of fuel
filler flap.
X Fully insert filler nozzle unit and refuel.
X Only fill your tank until the filler nozzle unit
cuts out –
do not top off or overfill.
X Closing: Turn fuel filler cap 2 clockwise
until it audibly engages.
i Make sure to close the fuel filler flap
before locking your vehicle as the flap lock-
ing pin prevents closing after you have
locked the vehicle.
X Close fuel filler flap 1 .
